Shiatsu Foundation Course – Sheffield

The Northern School of Shiatsu based in Sheffield is delighted to announce a new Foundation course in this wonderful therapeutic art.
When? The Foundation course runs over three weekends held once in September (8th and 9th), October (6th and 7th) and November (3rd and 4th) this year.

Shiatsu is a Japanese therapy, based on the principle that vital energy flows throughout the body in a series of channels called meridians. Shiatsu practitioners use thumb and palm pressure, stretching and other techniques to restore the balance of this energy. Shiatsu is great for the health, wellbeing and vitality of the practitioner as well as for the people who receive it!

This course is full of practical learning that will give you new skills to practice on family and friends. Therapists who already hold a qualification in other treatment modalities may also find this course to be a valuable addition to their continuing professional development.

In this course you will learn:

• Core skills for giving shiatsu
• Treatment routines for clients in prone, supine, side and sitting positions
• The basic skills of observation and diagnosis using the principles of Traditional Oriental Medicine
• Self care exercises
• Relevant theory to support your practice

Held at the beautiful Elephant Rooms in Draycott.

A dedicated graduate from the Northern School of Shiatsu. My clinic is based in Hull, Humberside.  I offer discounted treatments at just £10!

About me:- Yoga is my passion and I am a yoga teacher and practice yoga myself on a daily basis. I qualified as a Reiki Master/Teacher in 2003. Exercise is important to me, doing cardiovascular work, exercise at a gym, plus regular walking and jogging. I am a strong family member of the Quakers.

A very enthusiastic Shiatsu student in my final third year of training – due to Graduate from the Northern School of Shiatsu in spring 2019. Under the supervision of my school/teacher I am now looking to start to build my Shiatsu practice ready for when I graduate. My clinic is based in Matlock, Derbyshire but I can also offer home visits and a mobile service.  As a student I offer half-price treatments.

About me:- For 13 years I was a Buddhist and lived in Buddhist centres. This took me to the Himalayas and India and allowed me to carry out my love of walking, trekking and meditation. As a chef I also volunteered and cooked at many Buddhist events. I started off in life studying law and worked as a lawyer on death row in Texas.

When I am not studying and practising Shiatsu I can be found on a squash court, portrait painting, trekking or doing photography.

I now have an amazing new van so I can offer a mobile Shiatsu service.  Provided at companies, events, festivals, running events etc.
