Penistone Gala 2019

Penistone Gala will take place on the Penistone Showground on Sunday 9th June 2019. Thousands of people attend each year making it a premier event in the Yorkshire calendar. Penistone Gala is a fun-packed event run by local volunteers from Penistone Round Table, Scouts and Ladies Circle, together with Penistone Town Council. All profits raised by the Gala go towards local good causes and initiatives.

Foundation Course 

Shiatsu is a Japanese therapy, based on the principle that vital energy flows throughout the body in a series of channels called meridians. Shiatsu practitioners use thumb and palm pressure, stretching and other techniques to restore the balance of this energy. Shiatsu is great for the health, wellbeing and vitality of the practitioner as well as for the people who receive it!

This course is full of practical learning that will give you new skills to practice on family and friends. Therapists who already hold a qualification in other treatment modalities may also find this course to be a valuable addition to their continuing professional development.

• Core skills for giving shiatsu

• Treatment routines for clients in prone, supine, side and sitting positions

• The basic skills of observation and diagnosis using the principles of Traditional Oriental Medicine

• Self care exercises

• Relevant theory to support your practice

Shiatsu Intro Day

1 day intro into Shiatsu. Here you will learn the basics of Shiatsu.

You will learn skills such as:

  • How to palm
  • How to use your thumb
  • How to stretch 
  • How to move from your hara


This will be a fun filled day of doing basic Shiatsu on the floor on a futon.
You will learn a simple routine for both prone and supine. 
You will learn a bit of theory and history of Shiatsu but my goal is to make this mostly a practical hands on day.
This will be suitable for people with no experience in massage or body work and people with a therapy background who wish to test out if Shiatsu is right for them.
